I declare the Great Lakes a commons because I believe:
- The Great Lakes belong to all of us—every living being that depends on them.
- All of us have an equitable right to clean, safe water.
- We have a rightful role as stewards and protectors of our water.
- The sovereignty and water knowledge of Indigenous Nations must be honored in all water use decisions.
I pledge to stand with others to reclaim the Great Lakes as a living Commons.
